Big congratulations to Cameron Rex on graduating this past weekend! Cam came to us after his Freshman year at Lindenwood University where he podium finished nationally in both track and road racing in the sport of cycling. He decided to transfer to KU and started playing rugby in the fall of '15 with no understanding of the sport and was exposed to a very sharp learning curve. Cam had said, "I think the biggest difference from then and now is the organization of the team. The team has begun to see rugby as a commitment and the amount of dedication across the team has really shown in the results. The other change I've really seen is a change in team attitude, we are all about improving and celebrating improvements of others. The positivity of the team can be seen in the enthusiasm of the newer guys to the sport who have a lot of potential. I see the teams organization and positivity continuing to bring results and make for an appealing team to recruits in the future." Cameron also had this to say about transitioning from cycling to rugby, "Cycling taught me from a young age that with hard work comes results. Cycling was something that took hundreds of hours of training leading up to the first race. The work came without balance, though, and in the future I think it's important to remember that I won't be happy working too much. Rugby really taught me how to work for something and balance it with good times outside of training. The success of the team came from the effort of every member, and a positive attitude among everyone makes it way more fun and rewarding." KJRFC would like to say Good on 'ya Cam and best wishes to you and what your future holds.
