Eli Murray is Lawrence-bound! This scrappy hooker from Bishop Miege High School will join his Kansas City Jr. Blues Rugby Club teammate Conor Sexton putting on the Crimson & Blue this fall! Eli capped off his 4th and final high school season by helping the Jr. Blues to a 4th place finish at the Boys High School National Championships last month. He has been working around his summer 7s schedule to join us for our Wednesday night touch sessions when he can, and it’s been great getting to know him early on before we welcome everyone back in August. Here’s what the Jr. Blues had to say prior to their season this spring:
“Eli focused all his sports energy on Jr. Blues Rugby during his high school career. Eli has grown tremendously in the sport since his freshman year and has made strides this offseason in physical fitness that are showing on the pitch. Expect big things from Eli this season”.
