We’d like to introduce this year’s Captain, Trevor Lister. Trev is a Sports Management Major and has been playing rugby since his sophomore year at Blue Valley High School. If you’ve been around the club at all the last year, you undoubtedly know him from his dominant performances on the pitch as a sophomore, as he led the team in try’s with 9. But something that sticks out even more than his play is his leadership and unmatched level of respect for the game and everyone around. Opposing teams included. In our conference semifinal game against Iowa State last fall, after he scored the game-winning try on the last play, Trev had every right to get off the grass and celebrate with his teammates. Instead, he could be seen lending a hand to an Iowa State player to help him up off the ground first. After a tough 5 point loss in the National Championship this past spring, Trev led his teammates over to the Fresno State players to exchange handshakes, hugs and words in a true showing of what the game is all about. Between his play and his ability to instill the core values of the game along the way, we have the utmost confidence that he will adequately lead our guys into battle every week, as well as our preparations leading up to those battles. When this position was voted upon by his teammates in the spring, there was no hesitation in bringing his name up, which speaks volumes on how the team feels about him and we are very excited to see what Trevor can do in this position! #ROCKCHALK #FAMILY
