Your 22-23 KJRFC player award recipients! These awards are up to the players to nominate and vote on.
Luke Connor, Kernow Cup - Luke has been unreal during this two year stretch after Covid. He has been everything you could want in a scrum half. He is just tough as nails and good for 80 hard minutes every single Saturday. He’s always been a great leader but has flourished this season, especially in the Co-Captain role.
Jack Bowersox, Magnificent Masochist- over the last year or so, Jack has been training hard with Trevor Lister to elevate his fitness and play. In August, Jack showed up In crazy shape, finishing around the top in the bronco and taking first place in the first annual run up Mount Renfro. Jack might be the only Prop in the country capable of this. Not only has he taken it upon himself to get better, but he shows up and pushes the boys to get better, too.
Jonah Dolphino, Rookie of the Year - Jonah literally hit the ground running in his first year with us, starting with 5 tries in his first two games against D1A opponents. He never looked back as this season’s scoring leader. He is also a tackling machine and has a motor that doesn’t stop. We are beyond excited to see how Jonah builds off his freshman campaign.
Mason Enos, Persistent Perspirer - Mason is back with his second straight year winning this award and this time he had to work even harder. He battled through injury throughout the season, but that never stopped him from putting forth maximum effort while maintaining a positive attitude. You’re never going to get less than 100% from Mason and that is why we love having him in this family. He’s a true Club Man and every team would benefit from a Mason Enos.
Bremmer Campion, Most Improved - Bremmer showed up with friend Jonah Dolphino as a soccer player new to rugby. His fitness, ability to read space and coachability immediately took him far and his growth this season has been exceptional. He has been the perfect example of how a set of skills from one sport can transition to rugby seamlessly. We cannot wait to see year 2 from him! #ROCKCHALK #FAMILY
